Mwakuka Bwanji!!

Today's scripture is from Revelation 4:11: "Worthy are you, Our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you create all things, and by your will they existed and were created."

Today's quote comes from Martin Luther: "God writes the Gospel not in the Bible alone, but also on trees, and in the flowers and clouds and stars."

When we all met this morning, there was excitement in the air because today was the first day of our safari trip. We started off the day by playing Tetris to get our bags into the bus. After this, we started the five hour journey to the Kiambi Lodge in the Lower Zambezi National Park.

We briefly made a quick stop for a restroom and snack break in Kafue, before continuing our journey. Throughout the journey there were many tired faces and many snack stealers (They all kept on stealing this girl's cheese curls). In addition, the sugar canes and the cheese curls was a huge hit! It was all laka laka!!

We can't forget that we passed by beautiful mountains and beautiful goats. The goats were so beautiful that we even decided to name every single one of them (in reality only this one girl was the only one that named all of them passing by).

After completing the long journey through villages and over rough roads, we finally made it to the Lodge. We were in awe of the sight in front of us surrounded by wild creatures such as; monkeys (they are menaces), birds, and more. After we settled in at the lodge, we had an amazing lunch consisting of fish, french fries, and salad. Following this, we briefly looked around the lodge and admired the view of the river.

Later that afternoon, we started our sunset river safari. On this boat ride, we were able to see crocodiles, elephants, and hippos. We were amazed with how close we were able to get to the animals. We saw many hippos in large groups underwater, and saw very few elephants. It was quite the sight! The only alarming moment is when the hippos chomped their teeth together as a warning to not let the boat get closer to them. Another alarming moment is when we saw a crocodile that was not alive (Rest in peace). Despite of that, we still had many wonderful experiences and the highlight of the safari is that our boat even crossed the border of Zimbabwe!!

After this, we settled down for the night with an amazing dinner. It consisted of a three-course meal, light-hearted/fun conversations, and many funny jokes. Next, we played games around the fire, and then we went to bed because everyone felt like zombies by the end of the night. We are really excited for our safari to take place tomorrow. Tsalani bwino!!
